Fun for the Whole Family
Date: Saturday, December 14, 2019
Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Location: Howard Ward Park, 18300 Upper Bay Rd, Nassau Bay, TX
Please join us for the Annual Holiday in the Park event hosted by the Nassau Bay Special Events Committee and the City of Nassau Bay.
It’s that time of year again to jingle and mingle at the Annual Holiday in the Park event hosted by the Nassau Bay Special Events Committee and the City of Nassau Bay. Get into the holiday spirit as snow descends on Howard Ward Park and becomes a winter wonderland. After frolicking in the snow, warm up with some hot cocoa graciously provided by CANBE.
The Special Events Committee is excited to announce that Santa has made arrangements in his busy schedule to make an appearance and visit with all the good boys and girls in Nassau Bay – so bring your camera for a few Santa selfies! Join us for holiday cheer and singing loud for all to hear on Saturday, December 14th, 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Festive attire is encouraged!
There will also be a professional photographer on site to take your complimentary family photo! Bring the whole family and get your holiday photo checked off your list, while having fun with friends and neighbors.
USMC Toys for Tots
Toys for Tots will join us for the Annual Holiday in the Park celebration. Toys for Tots will have toy collection boxes and volunteers on hand to collect toys.
The City of Nassau Bay will be an official USMC Toys for Tots collection site, sponsored by the USMC Reserve Unit of Galveston, TX. All toys collected in Nassau Bay will be redistributed to needy children throughout our area. You can also share some love this holiday season by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to City Hall (1800 Space Park Drive, Ste 200).
There are hundreds of needy kids in Nassau Bay's immediate area, ranging from newborns to age 17. Please consider, while most tend to think about younger children when thoughtfully purchasing gifts, teenagers are the age group most often overlooked. Volunteers typically scramble to find age-appropriate gifts for teens, so that all have presents for Christmas.
Toy collection boxes will be available at Holiday in the Park (on December 14th), Nassau Bay City Hall, CVS, and Dollar General through December 14th. Toy donations of any size are greatly appreciated! Additionally, monetary donations can be made payable to USMC Toys for Tots Foundation. Contact Tina Clark at 281.507.7976 for more information.
Christmas Boat Lane Parade
After Holiday in the Park, you can watch or participate in the 58th Annual Clear Lake CHRISTMAS BOAT LANE PARADE!
Ring in the holidays with this Clear Lake tradition. More than 100,000 people traditionally enjoy this event from land and from hundreds of boats anchored throughout the Lake. The parade features more than 100 brightly decorated power and sailboats that will traverse the Clear Lake channel from the South Shore Harbour Marina and the Nassau Bay Lagoon to Galveston Bay.
Fireworks will be launched from Nassau Bay Peninsula at 6:00pm to signal the start of the parade. You can enjoy this event from land or by boat.
Visit the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce page for more information on entering your boat in the parade.

Students: Please also bring your own log sheet for getting your volunteer hours recorded. Report to Gail Barnett.
The event itself is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The volunteer times range in length from 1.0 to 1.5 hours. First and last shift includes setup or cleanup times, respectively.
You may register for more than one shift! The number in parentheses following the volunteer slot indicates the number of volunteers we need at one time with that activity. The party proper for the residents and friends of Nassau Bay is 2:00pm to 4:00pm. This is a fun and very casual event, come prepared to have a great time and get into the holiday spirit. Festive wear is always encouraged - you can get your holiday photo done this day! Thank you for volunteering and we look forward to sharing this event with you!
