Personal History

The Nassau Bay Mayor and City Council selected Nathan Burd as the new City Manager. His first day with the City of Nassau Bay was September 11th, 2023.

Burd has over 13 years of local government leadership experience and for the past three years has served as the County Administrator for Livingston County, MI. Livingston County has a population of approximately 195,000 residents and is one of the fastest-growing counties in the state with sixteen (16) townships, two (2) villages, and two (2) cities. In his current role, Mr. Burd is responsible for managing a workforce of 700+ employees and an annual budget of $112M (All Funds.) Prior experience includes almost two years as City Administrator for the City of Adrian, MI, and almost three years as Village Administrator & Clerk for the Village of Wolverine Lake, MI. From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Burd held the position of Director of Public Service for the City of Reynoldsburg, OH. Mr. Burd earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ohio State University and holds a Master of Science in Management (MSM) - Organizational Management.
