Mary Chambers joined the City of Nassau Bay in February 2011 as Director of Community Development. She brings approximately 20 years of local government experience to the position. Prior to coming to Nassau Bay, Mary was the City Administrator for the City of Anahuac located in Chambers County, Texas. During her career, Mary has directed the development of several award winning Comprehensive Plans and facilitated the development of multiple ordinance revision projects. Mary served as the Director of Planning and Development for League City, Texas during a period of rapid growth. She went on to lead the daily operations in Anahuac during its recovery from Hurricane Ike. Mary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, and Texas Chapter of American Planning Association. She is also a certified public manager. Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rust College and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Kansas.
