The City of Nassau Bay will be painting and making interior structural repairs on the water plant's 750,000-gallon ground storage tank located at 18120 Point Lookout Drive. City Council awarded the contract to E.J Chris Contracting, Inc.
Contractors will be mobilizing equipment the week of January 9, 2019 to begin work. This project is expected to take 75 days (pending rain delays). Citizens may experience construction noise from sand blasting and painting equipment.
Chris Defrancis, Water and Waste Water Supervisor, will be in charge of this project and will report daily after visits to the Water Plant. If you have any concerns or issues during this time, please contact Chris at Public Works 281-333-2944 or email email@example.com. Should you have a concern after hours, please contact the Nassau Bay Police at 281-333-4211 and they will contact the on-call personnel. Personnel will follow up with the contractors. In the event Chris is out of the office, please contact Public Works Director Paul Lopez at Public Works or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the condition of the tank (and this is the City of Nassau Bay's only ground storage water tank), this is a very TIME SENSITIVE PROJECT. The City has granted the contractors to work Monday through Sunday. Sunday will be light work ONLY and painting. This will allow Chris and his staff to prepare for the spring water demand on the system and will add adequate water pressure for firefighting capabilities. The City will be running on the emergency bypass operation until the tank is back in service.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, your patience with the project will benefit the residents of Nassau Bay, improve the drinking water quality, and will keep the City compliant with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Rules and Regulations Drinking Water Standards.
