[ARCHIVED] Residents Receiving Letters from FEMA

We have received many calls from residents that have received a letter from FEMA about a revision to the Flood Insurance Rate Map and possible changes to your flood insurance rates.

We strongly suggest that to get the best rate for your property you should obtain a current elevation certificate on your property and bring that certificate to your insurance company. Your insurance company will then be able to secure the best rate possible for your property. If you decide to pursue an elevation certificate for your property, Shanks Surveyors and GeoSurv are two surveyors familiar with Nassau Bay.

Their contact information is as follows:

Shanks Surveyors - 281.488.1486

GeoSurv - 281.554.7739

If you have additional questions, you can contact the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) at 1-800-638-6620. You can also view flood maps on FEMA's website.
