  1. Nassau Bay Rain Barrel Workshop

    May 20, 2017, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Nassau Bay City Hall

Conserve water. Protect the Bay! Rain barrels are an efficient, low-cost, low-maintenance method for collecting rainwater. They are placed at downspouts (or downpours from your roof) in order to reduce runoff and flooding, conserve freshwater, and reduce pollution reaching Galveston Bay via storm drains. Rain barrels can be used for watering a garden or houseplants, washing a car, and much more! Workshops consist of a presentation on the environmental benefits of collecting rainwater, and proper rain barrel installation instructions and tips. Registration is $35, which includes one 35-gallon barrel + one connector kit, and admission to the workshop. Workshop participants can purchase a maximum of 2 barrels + 2 kits. We encourage workshop attendants to ask questions and take advantage of the resources offered at our workshops, which help improve water quality in Galveston Bay!
