The Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to host their annual Open House on Friday, October 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (120 Surf Court). The Open House is the culminating event of Fire Prevention Week. All City residents are welcome to attend and enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and snacks, share stories as we recover from Hurricane Harvey, learn more about the new Fire Station being built on Upper Bay Drive, and generally have a good night out with the whole family.
The NBVFD is an all-volunteer organization, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The City relies on the department for fire & rescue services and the fire department depends on the volunteer efforts of those living in the City and nearby communities. For anyone interested in joining, this is a great opportunity to meet the volunteers, see the equipment, and pick up an application form. Prior firefighting experience is not required. All necessary training and equipment can be provided after joining.
